The varying metabolics of thought outcomes
Unbounded potential in early life awareness intensely parameterizes what can be and filters these "faux memories as guideposts." As the vacuum of our thoughts fills, these "eureka like moments that are self-auguring" become less prominent and do not extend as far out into future time . At some point in senility, I suspect, our sensory tools loose access to short term memory and thus all data is immediately entrenched in long term centers. This creates the mental illusion of deja vu for events occurring "now" to be seen as having already occurred.
